Hopping between craft fairs in the city this season is a fun and great way to get all of your holiday shopping done. So, not only have we compiled a list of the great seasonal markets going on during November and December, we’ve also listed some hidden gems in the city where you can find great gifts all year. Don’t forget — one of the top tips from local artisans is to go early, since quantities of handmade, local product is always limited. You can also find unique gifts at the Art Gallery of Alberta’s gift shop, Tix on the Square, the Alberta Craft Council, the Strathcona Farmers’ Market (Saturdays), the City Hall Market (Saturdays), French Quarter Farmers’ Market (Sundays), Mother’s Market (Fridays through Sundays) and Hole’s Greenhouses (St. Albert). Areas like 104 Street, High Street near 124 Street and Whyte Avenue contain plenty of hidden gem shops for your holiday shopping too. Plus, Edmonton’s winter festival season begins on Nov. 22, with All is Bright Festival on 124 Street.
