To get you motivated, Elizabeth Withey, who is receiving attention from the fashion world for her project Frock Around the Clock, will be the featured speaker. Withey is a writer, journalist and artist, and after 11 years as a journalist for the Edmonton Journal, she is currently the Writer in Residence at the Edmonton Public Library. Elizabeth will be doing a short talk on her project and how you too can green out your closet.

Featured Guests

kierra
Kierra McIntyre

This Green Drinks is unique as Kierra McIntyre will be hosting a clothing swap throughout the event! We ask all guests to bring a maximum of two or three articles of clothing to contribute. We encourage both guys and gals, and especially guys, to take part in this clothing swap. Kierra notes, “To me it’s so important as it’s of cultural and environmental importance to green your closet. Apparently people only wear roughly one quarter of what they own.” She walks the walk of slow fashion here in Edmonton, and looks great doing it!

nicoleà
Nicole Rowan

Nicole Rowan from The Spirited Thrifter will also be joining us. She started style blogging in August 2012 after her husband lost his job and she discovered thrifting as an avenue for affordable fashion and retail therapy. Read all about the beginning here. He found another awesome job soon after, but Nicole continued with her adventure of shopping secondhand and she is not planning to stop any time soon!  VV Boutique Style celebrated its first blog birthday on Aug. 10 and since then she has continued to enjoy thrifting adventures and great style. She is branching out and looking forward to sharing her love of thrifting and everyday style with the world!
