Four reasons to come to October’s Green Drinks

While we live in a country where it is our right to vote, there are people all over the world dying to attain that right for themselves and future generations. Thanks to the brave men and women who stood up for us, voting is not just a right, it is a responsibility. On Monday, Oct. 19, have your say in our nation’s governance, and exercise the right that many people have fought for, and continue to fight for.

The Local Good is a non-partisan organization and Green Drinks has invited all candidates of ridings in Edmonton and surrounding areas to the first Green Drinks of the season: Election 2015 – Meet Your Candidates. Here are four reasons to come to Green Drinks on Oct. 7:

    Meet candidates in a casual atmosphere. Quite often when there is an opportunity to meet candidates it is structured and formal. Not Green Drinks. Mingle with the candidates and talk about whatever you desire. Questions about their platform? Awesome. Want to know about their favourite X-Men? That’s cool too.
  2. Meet candidates of different parties. We are not exclusive. We are excited to host candidates of five parties for you to engage with. A list of candidates planning to attend can be found here.
  3. Meet other Edmontonians interested in the election. Whether they have the same views as you or not, converse with other great members of our city about current issues affecting our country, and make new friends!
  4. We missed you! Come support a local organization, a local business (the Yellowhead Brewery) and let’s catch up over some cold brews with our wonderful community.

Tickets for Green Drinks: Election 2015 – Meet Your Candidates can be purchased for $10 in advance here or $15 at the door (if space allows). Attendees of the interVivos event, A Federal Matter, receive their Green Drinks ticket for $5!
