I had the pleasure of attending (with my fourth-grade daughter and her class) the grand opening of the new Environment Gallery at the Telus World of Science on Tuesday, which replaces exploring Mr and Mrs Green’s backyard and garage with exploring the world.
It is a fantastic exhibit with cutting-edge interactive displays, some of which you can check out in this news report from CBC Edmonton. The photo above is an interactive display that’s controlled with touch-screens. There are new recycling, geology, ecological, and climate science displays too, and I have to admit I completely and utterly geeked out over the ice core. My daughter and her classmates especially loved the tornado maker, polar ice touchpad floor, and North Pacific saltwater aquarium/petting zoo.
I really suggest you go see it – no kids required.
